What is painted architectural art glass? |
| It
is traditional leaded stained glass on which special glass painting has
been applied and then fused into the glass at high temperature.
Figurative stained glass in church settings is painted, as is most text
on glass. "Architectural" painted glass means that this medium
is used in public buildings and spaces. |

What factors determine the price of painted architectural glass? |
| The
fabrication cost of ordinary leaded glass is primarily a function of
size and complexity of the piece. For painted glass, there is the
additional cost of painting and firing the images. Delicate
shading effects and intense painted colors generally require multiple
firings, and hence are more expensive than solid black painted
line-work. |

Can you give a ball-park of the costs for painted leaded architectural
glass? |
| When
we design and fabricate moderate complexity designs in lead, the range is usually between
$175 and $225 per square
foot, depending on the design and type of glass. Painting and firing add
from $100 to $200 per sq-ft for the painted areas. Remember that
the painted area per window is usually only a few square feet.

Where will the painted glass be fabricated? |
| We
have facilities in California and Louisiana. If the Painted work
is extensive, it will probably be painted and fired in Louisiana.project, we may involve one of our
partners in assisting with the fabrication. |
